About the Artist

Painting the world one brushstroke at a time.

Swadha is a sustainable artist by conviction, creator by compulsion, and juggler of many hats — managing through various multiverses. After spending over 12 years swimming in the high-tide oceans of advertising and design, she has found her true canvas in the quieter pools of sustainability.

She swears by a good cup of coffee — and that got her into experimenting with natural dyes. Coffee grounds and washes become landscapes. Beetroot juice and turmeric stains? Pure alchemy. Some call it art. The planet might call it a sigh of relief. Her work with coffee wash and ink on canvas was highly appreciated and lapped up by collectors within and outside India, and she has since broadened her horizon into environment-friendly natural vegetable dyes.

Swadha finds solace in the art she creates. Each work is an outcome of the meditative energy she seeks from her creations — a mix of the traditional and modern, reflecting her fascination with stories and the complexities of relationships.

Thirteen of her curious creations found a home at TATA BlueScope Steel's Pune HQ, and decided to go corporate by starring in their 2024 desktop calendar. She has showcased her work in multiple exhibitions and galleries, and is currently tangled up in threads, ink, and wild ideas — purling her next series with natural dyes on canvas and paper.

The botanical painting I commissioned is the first thing I see every morning. It brings a calm I didn't know I was missing.

Swadha captured our vision as I imagined it — the detail, the light, the feeling of being there. Truly extraordinary.

I've bought three pieces now. Each one feels like a small world you can step into. The quality and care in every work is remarkable.
